Whys and Wherefores

So, I've often toyed with the idea of blogging.  I just never seemed to get to the point where I actually put fingers to keys and started.  So that brings us here, where my dear friend Christine has peer pressured me into starting, claiming that if she can do it then so can I, and I never being able to turn down a challenge like *that* signed up for blogger and created this little blog.  Really though, it might be fun to dump out my thoughts about books, or articles, or pictures or whatever else that might float through my brain.

A little about myself, I'm a 34 year old divorcee (nearly 35, but I'm trying to forget that, do me a favor and you forget too ok? Ok.  Also, don't you hate the word divorcee, it sounds so old-fashioned.)  I work from home and I go to school full time.  I'm an English/Literature major, and school is probably the most important thing I have going on right now.  I have no children, unless you count my little dog Punkin who is the light of my life.  She's quite a little spitfire, and people say that dogs are like their people and the only personality traits we seem to share is an irrational fear of bugs and the complete meltdowns that we have in response to a change in normal routines.

I'm an avid reader.  If I had unlimited amounts of time I could and probably would read about a book a day.  As it is I still read every chance I get.  Aside from reading I like movies and have a strange addiction to Televised talent shows, like American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, America's Got Talent, MasterChef, Hell's Kitchen, etc.  I can't help it, I just *love* them.  I also have recently developed an addiction to the website Pinterest - I just can't stop pinning...I'm pretty sure I'll need to seek professional help over it at some point.  I like to scrapbook and roleplay but haven't been doing either of those things in quite awhile, although this Holiday season I fully intend to get back into card making - who knows maybe I shall share my finished products here.  Oh, and I coupon.  I can't think of anything else to say about myself.

So here it is, the first of a thousand posts?  We'll see.  Right now all I have on my brain is Harry Potter - so expect some of that to filter into the next few posts...
